As one of the foremost experts in the wedding and special event industry Dr. La Shawn Denise Witt is one of the top wedding and event planners. Born in Los Angeles, Wedding and Event Planner Extraordinaire La Shawn began her career in alumni relations and special events with Loyola Marymount University, and soon fell in love with the event planning aspects of her job. In addition, she was planning small events including her own baby shower while an undergraduate in college. In 1999, she decided to venture out on her own and open Divine Diva Events. While many of her satellite offices are located throughout the country her home office is in Beverly Hills.
It was her dream to provide clients with quality event planning that they could trust at an affordable rate. After working in the event industry for the past 25 years, she has established a reputation of being dependable and trustworthy, has produced over 841 events, and maintains working relationships with many of Los Angeles’s top event industry professionals. Most recently she has added a division for group travel under her company, Fabulous Divas. It is here where she coordinates travel for women and men both domestically and internationally. La Shawn is a licensed travel agent.
Outside of event designing La Shawn indulges in her passions of shopping, traveling, reading and enjoying time with the loves of her life, daughter Morgan and Shih Tzu’s Dolce & Gabbana. La Shawn holds two Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degrees in Biology, African American Studies, Education and Educational Leadership from Loyola Marymount University, Pepperdine University, and Argosy University respectively. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.- Inglewood Alumnae Chapter, Jack and Jill of America, Tabahani Book Circle, Phi Delta Kappa Sorority, Inc, National Association of University Women and The Links, Inc. La Shawn is currently a member of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Bridal Consultants, the Association for Wedding Professionals International, and the Los Angeles- Orange County Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives. La Shawn actively travels the country attending conferences, wedding planner familiarization trips and workshops to keep up to date on the latest trends and happenings in the event industry.
La Shawn’s experience includes planning hundreds of weddings and special events around the nation and which she and TEAMDiva executed every detail with style. She focuses on all weddings and events, sophisticated to intimate, from traditional to destination, and cultural to conservative. La Shawn is an event scholar that makes sure all of her events shine and the guests go home wanting more.
